Invitation to Africa Investment Forum Closing Press Conference

BK Arena (formerly known as Kigali Arena until 2022) is the biggest indoor arena in East Africa. On May 24, 2022, the arena's name was changed to the BK Arena after a six-year sponsorship deal worth $8 million with Bank of Kigali. It hosts sports competitions as well as cultural events.

African Development Bank Group President and Chairperson of the Africa Investment Forum, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and representatives of the other founding partners will host a press conference today, Friday 10 November, 17:45-18:45 GMT+1.

The press conference will mark the end of three days of deal-making, business connections, and forward-looking discussions on a new Africa that is built on transformative investments.

Dr Adesina will make key announcements on the outcome of the three-day meeting. Several heads of state and more than 1000 participants, including CEOs, heads of multilateral and regional financial institutions, business leaders, project developers, and government ministers attended the 2023 Market Days.

The Africa Investment Forum's eight founding partners are the African Development Bank Group, Africa50, Africa Finance Corporation, Afreximbank, Development Bank of Southern Africa, European Investment Bank, Islamic Development Bank, and Trade and Development Bank.

Morocco's King Mohammed VI opened the 2023 Africa Investment Forum Market Days on Wednesday with a call for Africans to work together to attract the levels of private investment needed to drive the continent's inclusive development.

Heads of state and government took the opportunity of the three-day Forum to make the case for investment in their countries by participating in deal-focused boardrooms and thematic plenaries. They include Azali Assoumani, President of the Union of Comoros and current chairperson of the African Union, Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio, Rwanda's Prime Minister Eduardo Girente and the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley.
