The African Development Bank will participate in the 2024 African Mining Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa, from February 5 to 8, 2024. Under the theme "Embracing the Power of Positive Disruption: A Bold New Future for African Mining," the event promises insightful discussions and strategic collaborations.

Led by the African Natural Resources Management and Investment Centre, the Bank's delegation will include key departments such as Industrialisation and Trade Development, Sanctions and Appeals Board, Energy Financial Solutions, Policy and Regulation, Africa Investment Forum, and the African Legal Support Facility.

As a sponsor, the African Development Bank will lead sessions on the role of development finance in empowering African mining and Africa's Green Minerals Strategy. The Bank delegation will participate in a pre-event Ministerial Symposium on February 4, where the private sector will engage with African Ministers on mining sector policy reforms.

The Bank's engagement at this year's Mining Indaba is to leverage partnerships with the private sector and multilateral institutions to catalyse new investments in Africa's mining sector, focusing on climate change and the just energy transition.
