Nigeria: Acci Partners Pebec to Ease Business Registration

14 February 2024

The President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Emeka Obegolu, said the chamber is partnering with the government, particularly the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to ease business registration.

He stated this in Abuja during his inauguration as the 12th president of the chamber.

He said, "The chamber is partnering with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to advocate specific reforms like reducing the number of days required for registering a business and improving the efficiency of customs clearance processes.

"These reforms have resulted in a significant improvement in Nigeria's Ease of Doing Business ranking," he said.

On his plan for businesses, he added that, "The ACCI, in partnership with Cityscape Ltd, is developing an ultramodern shopping centre/market along the ACCI Complex on Airport Road.

"This shopping centre/market will be the first of its kind in Abuja and will be delivered fully completed before the end of this year where it will serve as a centre for investment opportunities within the FCT."
