Nigeria: No Plan to Endorse Any Gov'ship Aspirant - Edo APC Chair

The acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarret Tenebe, has assured of a level playing field for aspirants ahead of Saturday's primary election.

He said the party does not intend to endorse any of the 12 aspirants cleared by the committee set up by the National Working Committee (NWC).

Tenebe stated this on Tuesday while announcing the successful membership rectification, recertification and revalidation.

He assured that the party would regain the governorship of the state in this year's governorship election.

He added, "Only up-to-date financial members as at February 11, 2024, will participate in the direct gubernatorial primary election slated for February 17, 2024, in line with the party's Article 9.3."

The aspirants cleared for the exercise are Clem Agba, Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Dekeri, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Gideon Ikhine and David Imuse.

Others are Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere, Oserheimen Osunbor, Blessing Agbomhere, Dennis Idahosa and Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe.
