Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, will join a distinguished panel on April 18, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET for a discussion on the Rising Global Middle Class during the 2024 World Economy Summit in Washington, D.C.

The event will feature discussion of the debt burden developing countries are facing today and how governments and private sector players can foster economic growth to create greater opportunities.

Adesina will share his insights alongside Xavier Becerra, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services; Raj Shah, President, Rockefeller Foundation; Andrew Steer, President & CEO, Bezos Earth Fund; Ndidi Nwuneli, CEO, ONE.Campaign; and Ani Dasgupta, President & CEO at World Resources Institute.

The World Economy Summit, organized by global news platform Semafor, will take place April 17-18, against the backdrop of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings. With six sessions across two days, the Summit will showcase influential economic and business decision makers engaging in on-the-record conversations about the state of the global economic landscape.
