Nigeria: 49-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Ogun

A 49-year-old woman, Mrs Idowu Victoria, has been found dead after she allegedly hung herself on the ceiling fan inside her room in the Magboro area of Ogun State.

Police spokesman in the state, Omolola Odutola, said the case was reported to the Ibafo Division on Sunday by her son, Idowu Qudus, of Gan-un town in Magboro, Ibafo, Ogun State.

She said, "The DPO immediately drafted men to the scene. No suicide note was found, and photographs were taken."

She added that the Commissioner of Police (CP), Alamutu Abiodun, advised families to seek experts' help for relatives or loved ones who needed emotional support.

Odutola described suicide as unlawful, advising that, "Sufferers of mental health need more support from family members to prevent fatalities."
