Nigeria: Woman Killed On Sagamu-Benin Highway

A driver on Monday around 10pm killed a female pedestrian near Dalof Filling Station in the Sagamu axis on the Sagamu-Benin Expressway in Ogun State.

The police spokeswoman in Ogun, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident, said the accident occurred on Sunday night.

She explained that the vehicle from the Ijebu-Ode direction towards the Sagamu Interchange hit a male and a female pedestrians by the express and that the victims suffered injuries and were taken to the Live Well Hospital in Sagamu.

She further said, "Unfortunately, the 22-year-old female victim, identified as Elizabeth James, from Sagamu, died in the hospital."

She further said, "The police visited the accident scene with traffic authorities, collected evidence and are currently investigating. Further updates will be provided."
