The Ibadan branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has named it's new Bar Center Annex after the late governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN.

The building, christened Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN Bar Center Annex, was commissioned by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Ariwoola who thanked the Ibadan branch of the NBA for honoring Akeredolu, said the edifice will serve as a hub for advancing fairness and social justice.

Speaking at the event, Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, commended the association "for their tireless efforts in making the project a reality"

Governor Aiyedatiwa said late Akeredolu's contributions to the development of Ondo state and legal jurisprudence will never be forgotten.

According to him, "An event like this is bound to resonate with memories of the late Governor's unwavering commitment to the rule of law, his unrelenting pursuit of justice and unshakable belief in the potential of our great state and Nigeria in general."

Late Governor Akeredolu was, at different times, secretary and vice chairman of the Ibadan branch of NBA before becoming the national president of the association.
