Nigeria: Pastor 'S Wife Kidnapped, Abductors Demand N32m

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted the wife of a Pastor of Redeem Church Ministry, Lokoja, Kogi State, Emmanuel Idenyi, demanding N32m ransom.

City & Crime gathered that the hoodlums abducted her yesterday around 2pm at the gate of their house in Ibaji quarters in Lokoja and ferried her to unknown destination.

The residents said the woman was trailed from a popular eatery opposite Specialist Hospital, Lokoja to her home without her knowing.

A family source said the abductors of the woman contacted her husband, a retired permanent secretary in the state public service, who is now a pastor, requesting the sum of N32m.

"The pastor was contacted at the weekend by the kidnappers, instructing him to pay the sum of N32m before he can see his wife again .

"The miscreants followed the woman to her house at Ibaji quarters, Lokoja and blocked her vehicle at the gate of her house around 2pm . The hoodlums shot sporadically into the air and left with her to unknown destination," one of the sources said.

The source added that negotiation was still ongoing between the family and her abductors but the hoodlums are threatening to harm the woman if their request is not met on time.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Williams Aya, did not respond to an enquiry on the incident up till the time of filing this report.
