Nigeria: Police Kill Suspected Armed Robber, Arrest 1 in Delta

The Delta State police command has said its operatives killed a suspected armed robber in the state and arrested one.

City & Crime reports that the spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba on Tuesday.

Edafe said the late armed robbery suspect was neutralised by the operatives of Ekpan Division when he jumped into the bridge in an attempt to escape from his hideout along the NNPC Link Road.

He said the suspect was confirmed dead by medical personnel at Ekpan General Hospital, where he was taken to for treatment.

He added that he was arrested by the surveillance patrol team of the Ekpan division, who were on routine patrol along Army Barracks Link Road, off Refinery Road, Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area.

He said the deceased and two other suspects who escaped arrest specialised in double-crossing their victims, robbing them and sometimes kidnapping them.
