The spokesperson of the command, DSP Alabo Alfred, while confirming the incident said, "On June 3, 2024, at 5:30am, we received a distress call from a patriotic citizen who reported that some hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers were operating at the Fangha area of Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area.

"Upon the receipt of the tipoff, a team of policemen and other security help groups led by the DPO, Bokkos Division, swiftly rushed to the scene of the incident, where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. In the process, two of the hoodlums were neutralised, while others escaped with gunshot wounds."
