Nigeria: National Assembly Begins Recess, to Resume July 2

National Assembly lawmakers have commenced their recess and will resume on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, disclosed this on the floor of the Senate during plenary on Tuesday.

Akpabio said the recess was to enable the lawmakers participate in the activities marking the 2024 Democracy Day as well as the Senate's end-of-session break, having been inaugurated on June 13, 2023.

Daily Trust reports that the 10th National Assembly would be one year old on Thursday, June 13.
