Nigeria: Nedc Consoles Victims of Gwoza Suicide Bombings

The Managing Director and CEO of the North East Development Commission, NEDC Mohammed G. Alkali led Management and Staff to commiserate with the people and Government of Borno state over the Suicide Bomb Attack that occurred last Saturday in Gwoza leaving scores dead and many injured.

During the visit to the victims at General Hospital in Maiduguri on Tuesday , the NEDC MD/CEO Mohammed Alkali Expressed sadness over the incident and promised to provide immediate support to the injured and prayed God Almighty to grant them speedy recovery.

NEDC Boss also assured that victims of the suicide bomb blast both receiving treatment in Gwoza and Maiduguri will be reached out with the necessary assistance to ensure their wellbeing is catered for in earnest.

He equally gave the assurance that the NEDC will continue to provide succor to insurgency affected communities in the Region and will work with the Federal and State Governments toward actualizing its mandate of rebuilding the Northeast.

" I am sure the state government is going to constitute a committee and we will be part of it to see ways we are going to assist as a Commission that has been impacting in various sectors " he added.

The NEDC MD/CEO and his team then offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the ugly incident.

They were received by Dr Babashehu Muhammad, Medical Director State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri.

The NEDC has since inception contributed a lot in improving the health sector through the provision of hospital facilities, equipment and consumables as well as developmental medical facilities and support services across the Norheast region.
