Nigeria: PDP Wins All Chairmanship Seats in Adamawa, Delta LG Polls

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has declared the People's Democratic Party (PDP) the overwhelming winner of the local government elections held on Saturday.

According to ADSIEC chairman, Mohammed Umar, the PDP secured a clean sweep, winning all 21 chairmanship seats and 225 councillorship seats in the state, while the New Nigerian People's Party (NNPP) secured a single councillorship seat in Demsa Local Government Area.

The election, which saw 18 political parties participate, was held on Saturday, with results announced on Sunday. The commission is set to present certificates of return to the winners on Monday.

Similarly, the party won all 24 chairmanship seats contested in Delta State on Saturday, according to the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC).
