Nigeria: Edo Airport Attack - Suspects Have Abandoned Homes - CP

The Edo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Funsho Adegboye, has said that those fingered in the attack on the APC governorship candidate in the state, Sen Monday Okpebholo, and killing of his police orderly, have abandoned their homes.

Mr Adegboye, who stated this while giving an update on the command's investigation of the incident, assured that the perpetrators would be brought to justice

He said, "Investigation is ongoing to unravel the mystery surrounding the killing of the gallant officer and attempted murder of the governorship candidate of the APC, Sen Monday Okpebholo.

He said the command was not leaving any stone unturned to fish out the perpetrators whom he said have abandoned their homes.

While disclosing that the police had dropped invitations with the suspects' families, he said, "And if they fail to honour the invitation, an appropriate legal procedure would be followed, and this may include declaring them wanted."

City & Crime reports that last Thursday, suspected political thugs attacked the Sen Okpebholo and the reinstated Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, at the exit gate of the Benin airport, leading to the killing of Okpebholo's police orderly.
