13 August 2024

Abuja--The Nigerian woman, Mrs. Favour Igiebor, who allegedly tore her husband's international passport at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, has stated her reasons.

The woman in another trending video called out her husband to narrate what led to her actions.

Recall that the trending footage captured her tearing her husband's Nigerian Standard Passport shortly after they arrived at the Lagos Airport on Saturday.

In an interview with Jejoja's family on social media, yesterday, she said: "I am the lady that had issues with my husband before we came to Nigeria. This issue has been going on for a very long time but I was just dancing to the tune till I arrived in my mother's land Nigeria. It just happened that I did what I did.

"All those bloggers carrying this video on social media, you have to ask what happened. Don't just look at the actions alone. I am not a mad woman who will just come and act like that. I have my reasons, I have gone through so many things.

"So many of you are just commenting on the video, I am not like that. So many of you are coming to comment, what if I had done this in Europe, where we are coming from? Because I did not want to make him go through a lot of stress that is why I did it in Nigeria.

"I don't care about what you people are commenting, you have to be sure before commenting. So many people saw while I was acting, those who had thinking faculty were calm to ask. I have gone through a lot of things, family issues here and there, my husband has been the one operating my social media page, but now I am operating it.

"I suffered with my husband, I know how many years I suffered with him, is it till when I go you people will say this woman did not speak out? What I did was because action speaks louder than voice, I did what I did for him to know I have been bearing it.

"Please, those of you saying she should be arrested, come and hold me responsible, I don't understand, for what reason? I know the pains I am passing through, I know what my eyes have seen. I cry everyday after three kids. If he knows he has the mind, let him come out and say the truth of what is happening, let him come and speak out," she added.
