The convener. AIF, Olayinka Adigun stated during a press briefing to herald the championship, adding that action would come alive at the fifth edition inside the tennis section of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

He stressed that the championship was organised to honour their late father for his contribution to the development of the sport while he was alive.

"The AIF championship started as our way of immortalizing our father, Alhaji Adewale Isa, whose tracks in tennis are there for all to see. He was the guiding coach for many tennis players and coaches who have gone ahead to become great tennis coaches and players.

"We are happy to continue sponsoring and organizing this competition because we see the fruits of our labour germinating real quick and right before our very own eyes," he said.

He noted that this year's edition will witness intense competition among the players in 12, 14 and 16 & under categories, acknowledging that the championship stands as a breed to produce tennis champions.
