1 September 2024

Gifted spoken word artist, events compere and media personality, Oluwatola Oluwaluyi, better known as Tawluyi, continues to make waves in the creative industry by seamlessly blending her talents as a poet, MC and actress.

With a passion for storytelling and a commitment to sparking meaningful conversations, Tawluyi is dedicated to creating experiences that leave a lasting impact on audiences of all kinds.

"Being both a spoken word artist and an MC allows me to connect with audiences, tell stories, and spark meaningful conversations amongst all forms of audiences," Tawluyi shares. "Both spoken word artistry and emceeing involve the creative process of weaving words that stir emotions and get my audience to take required action."

Tawluyi's unique approach to her craft is evident in her ability to use words as a powerful tool of influence. "Words are a tool of influence for me, whether I'm up on stage using puns and metaphors to paint a relatable reality or I'm making sure an event is the best experience for any and everyone in the room," she explains.

As a deep thinker and keen observer of the world around her, Tawluyi finds inspiration in both the small and significant experiences of life. "As I pay attention to the little and big experiences I see around me, I'm inspired to proffer change and growth. A person's mind is his or her greatest asset, and if I can help someone see the world better, build hope, and ignite passions, zeal, and help them build up spiritually, I am fulfilled."

Tawluyi's mission extends beyond performance; she is dedicated to promoting healthy conversations in a media landscape often overwhelmed with an overload of information but lacking in quality. "In a world where we all have a voice, the loudest we give our ears to isn't always the smartest. Therefore, I have made it my lifelong mission to always promote healthy conversations and make a lot of noise about it," she asserts. "I host talk shows with the aim of inspiring change in the minds of both the young and old. I thrive to get both people's ears and hearts, as I deliver pieces that make them better people."

As an actress, Tawluyi merges her love for words with her talent for performance, creating experiences that resonate deeply with her audience. "We live in a multifaceted world with different realities. What I do as an MC, poet, or even an actress is to create beautiful realities people can hold onto as they maneuver the complexities of life," she says. "I infuse acting in spoken word artistry as it is a mix of performance and content meant to be fully enjoyed."
