Nigeria: RTEAN Dissolves Oyo Executive

5 September 2024

The national leadership of the Road Transport Employers' Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has dissolved its branch executive in Oyo State.

This followed the resolutions reached at the National Executive Council meeting of the association held on August 29 at the National Headquarters.

A statement by RTEAN yesterday said the immediate dissolution of the state executive was in line with the provisions of the association's Constitution at Article 9: d (ii).

The statement was signed by the RTEAN's president, Musa Muhammed and the Secretary-General, Yusuf Adeniyi.

"This action was as a result of the non-functionality of the executives and non-attendance of NEC meetings for more than 6 months without any cause.

"Meanwhile, a committee will be constituted to pilot the affairs of the state pending when a new set of executives will be elected as demanded by the constitution," the statement added.
