Nigeria: Reflecting On Exhibition in Honour of Nsikak Essien

The Nsikak Essien Foundation for Creative Arts has reflected on the recently concluded retrospective exhibition titled "The Infinity Project: A Retrospective Exhibition in Honour of Nsikak Essien," curated by Mmenim Essien and Patrick Odimnfe, which honoured the life and works of the renowned artist, Nsikak Okon Essien.

The event, which was hosted by Paul Usoro and Co. at PUC Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos, also marked the official launch of the Nsikak Essien Foundation for Creative Arts, celebrating the extraordinary legacy of one of the most influential figures on the continent.

The retrospective exhibition showcased a curated selection of some of Nsikak Essien's most iconic works, highlighting the artistic innovation and cultural impact that defined his illustrious career.

Nsikak Essien pioneered sculptural mixed-media painting, and this exhibition successfully introduced his vision to a new generation of art enthusiasts.

Curated Collections: A comprehensive display of Nsikak's masterpieces, including never-before-seen works featuring his unique sculptural mixed media painting style which blends regular painting and the use of found materials.

The event included a panel conversations -- a fireside chat amongst Mmenim Essien, Operations Director of the Nsikak Essien Foundation for Creative Arts; Patrick Odimnfe, Head Curator at Didi Museum; Uchay Joel Chima, Artist and Director of MoCA Lagos; and Emily Mfon Bassey, Digital Brand Strategist. They explored the goals of the Foundation and the future of the African artscape.

There were also interactive experiences that immersed visitors in the world of Nsikak Essien, and a private viewing -- an exclusive event that brought together art collectors, critics and enthusiasts to celebrate the exhibition's launch.
