Nigeria is yet to achieve a national post-campaign coverage survey (PCCS) of 95% for measles, according to the United Nations Children's Fund.
To this end, the UN agency has stressed the need to conduct integrated campaigns to deliver a full complement of immunisation services, address vaccine hesitancy due to felt need, and improve confidence and community acceptance of PHC services.
The social behaviour change specialist of UNICEF, Bauchi Field Office, Mr. Eki George, in a measles overview paper presentation, emphasised the need for vaccination against the disease, polio and yellow fever.
He listed challenges against vaccination campaigns as non-inclusion of state teams and local government level cascade training budget among others.
