A delegation of traditional rulers from Niger Republic has commiserated with the government and people of Yobe State over the floods and attacks on Mafa which claimed life and property in some parts of the state.
The emir of Maine-Soroa and leader of the delegation, Abdou Katiella Gasso, said in Damaturu yesterday that as good neighbours, they were obliged to identify with the state at such trying moments.
According to him, the people of Yobe State and Niger Republic are closely related through culture, religion and inter-marriages "therefore, what affects one, automatically affects the other."
The Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, commended the traditional rulers for the show of love, care and concern.
"I commend you for maintaining the traditional ties between our people; this would be encouraged and promoted," he assured.
