25 September 2024

The FCT sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Muta'ah Chorrie, said only two people sustained minor injuries in a tanker fire incident that happened in Abuja on Monday evening.

Chorrie, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Tuesday, said it was not true as reported by some people that many people were injured in the tanker fire.

He said the incident involved a petrol tanker and Toyota Sienna, in which he said the tanker driver and his conductor escaped before the tanker went up in flames.

"The two other people only sustained minor injuries and were rescued by our men to the hospital. But I am surprised that some people reported that many were injured, which is not true," he said.

The FRSC sector commander said his men were at the scene up till Tuesday morning alongside the fire service men.
