Liberia has extended a congratulatory message to the People's Republic of China as it observed its 75th anniversary.
The People's Republic of China through its Embassy near Monrovia over the weekend held a reception in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of China.
During the celebration, Chinese diplomatic representatives in Liberia committed to developing and strengthening diplomatic ties with Liberia through the China-Liberia friendship.
The program brought together over four hundred participants. Liberia's Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Sylvester Grigsby, Acting Foreign Minister Cllr. Deweh E. Gray, Associate Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, and Members of the Diplomatic Corps graced the occasion.
Remarking on the program, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Rin Chengwu said that over the past year, the strategic guidance of the two heads of state has become more powerful.
Amb. Rin disclosed that during the FOCAC Summit, President Xi Jinping met with President Joseph N. Boakai, and the two sides announced elevating the China-Liberia relationship to a strategic partnership.
He recounted that the strategic consensus of the two heads of state has charted the course of China-Liberia relations.
Amb. Rin continued that over the past year, exchanges between China and Liberia at all levels have become more active, and President Boakai recently led a large delegation to attend the FOCAC Summit.

"In the next step, China will implement important projects such as the two Overpass Bridges on Tubman Boulevard, the National Clinical Diagnostic and Treatment Lab at the 14 Military Hospital, Bamboo and Rattan Weaving, geological resource surveys ..., contributing to Liberia's economic and social development," Amb. Rin added.
Speaking on behalf of the government and people of Liberia, Vice President Jeremiah K. Koung and Minister Sylvester Grigsby congratulated the government and People of China on their anniversary.
According to them, China's development achievements stand tall, and its modernization is a path for Africa to follow.
