West Africa: Nigeria At 64 - Let's Work Together for a Brighter Future, Gov Sani Urges Nigerians

1 October 2024

Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani has urged Nigerians to work together for a brighter future, just as he appealed to Nigerians to continue to build bridges and not walls.

Governor Sani, in his address on the occasion of Nigeria's Independence Anniversary held in Kaduna, noted that the anniversary comes at a time of severe economic stress in many households.

The governor attributed Nigeria's economic difficulties to the unfair global economic system and years of mismanagement.

Sani, however said his administration has been providing succour to the poor, vulnerable and underserved persons in the state.

"The Federal and state governments have stepped up short, medium and long term measures to mitigate the hardships of the citizens. The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government has taken bold and painful economic measures to reinvent the economy and steady the ship of state.

"However, with patience and sustained support, our economy would bounce back and the socio-economic conditions of our people would improve," Governor Sani said.
