Nigeria: Hoodlums Scale Fence, Steal Foodstuffs in FCT Council

3 October 2024

Suspected hoodlums have reportedly scaled the fence of the residence of one Yakubu Musa at Anguwar Abattoir in Abaji Area Council of the FCT and stole some food items and his motorcycle.

A neighbour, Saidu Ibrahim, said the incident happened on Tuesday around 11:30am when the man went out to visit a relation.

He said the hoodlums, who had been monitoring him, entered the house by climbing the fence and removed a motorcycle and foodstuffs.

According to him, the man's wife and two children were also not at home when the incident happened, saying when the man returned, he found that his motorcycle was missing.

He said, "Some food items, including provisions the man purchased to send for one of his sons in boarding school, were carted away by the hoodlums."

He said they took advantage of the absence of neighbours, who were not home to scale the fence into the compound.

"You know, the time the incident happened, there were no neighbours at home and the house was a bit isolated," he said.

The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, SP Josephine Andeh, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
