Nigeria: Obaseki, Okpebholo Begin Joint Sitting of Transition Committee Friday

Benin City — The Edo State government transition committee and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would on Friday begin their joint sitting ahead of the November handover of government to Sen. Monday Okpebholo.

The Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare stated this in a press briefing where he said the Edo State Joint Transition Committee inaugural meeting will be held at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) starting from 10 a.m as its inaugural meeting.

He said the state government acknowledged receipt of the names of the APC Transition Committee members in response to its earlier letter to the party.

According to him, "The primary objective of the Transition Committee is to facilitate a smooth handing over of government. We look forward to the collaborative efforts of all members in ensuring a seamless transition."

Members of the Committee from the state government side include Mr Joseph Eboigbe, SSG/Chairman; Eire Ifueko Alufohai Esq, Secretary/Coordinator; Mr Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi

The committee also includes Mr. Anelu Julius; Mr. Efe Iserhienrhien; Mrs. Osaro Aihie; Mrs. Igbinogbaro Bose Joy, Yuwa Naps; Mr. Jude Ekpu, Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, Mrs. Akhigbe Joy, and Mrs. Imuetinyan Akin-Omyajowo as members.
