Nigeria: ADP Presidential Campaigner, Defunct PPA Collapse Structure Into APC

17 October 2024

Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council PCC of Action Democratic Party ADP, Erelu Kemi Elebute-Hally and some national leaders of the defunct Progressive Peoples Alliance PPA have collapsed their structures into the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.

Receiving leaders of the defectors at the APC National Secretariat Thursday in Abuja, APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje promised equal opportunities for all.

Ganduje who was briefed on the defection of over 7, 000 ADP members in Ekiti State and thousands of others nationwide, said Elebute-Hally's experience as a former Governorship candidate in Ekiti State would come in handy at all time.

Earlier, Engr. Elebute-Hally said her decision to join the APC was in recognition of the need to support the ongoing reforms of President Bola Tinubu which she said, though painful in the interim, would lead to a joyful end.

"We have been on this matter and deliberated for two years, writing to our various parties that we were going to defect, which we did on October 7 this year.

"This defection cuts across chieftains of the ADP, Social Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the PPA", she said.

On his part, a former Deputy National Chairman, North, of the PPA, Mohammed Inua Haruna said while the national chairman of his party had earlier joined a different party, the national and state structures which remained intact, had mandated him to look for a suitable party for them.
