Nigeria: Proptech Firm Makes Case for Estate Safety

27 October 2024

Proptech startup, Gate Africa, has pledged commitment to creating a safe, connected, and functional environment within estates, saying security is essential.

Chief Marketing Officer of Gate Africa, Mr Taiwo Idris, in a statement, said the firm prioritises both efficiency and resident satisfaction.

He said with tools like the marketplace and alarm-triggering feature, residents could feel secure in their community.

His words: "Gate Africa's access management feature ensures a seamless and secure entry process for guests. Residents can send invite codes directly from the Gate Africa app, which is available across all platforms, in as little as five seconds. When guests arrive at the gated community, they present the invite code at the entrance, where security checks its validity. Based on the system's verification, access is either permitted, denied, or held. All entries into estates powered by Gate Africa are logged on the estate's portal and backed up on the cloud, ensuring transparency and security.

"Additionally, updates on the guest's status, such as their arrival or departure, are sent to the host, further enhancing communication between residents and their visitors. With these innovative access control solutions, Gate Africa is leading the way in estate security and convenience.

"Under communication, Gate Africa provides a range of tools to improve interactions within communities. The forum allows residents to communicate with each other, share important updates, and discuss estate matters. But beyond that, Gate Africa introduces a marketplace feature, where residents can buy and sell new or used items within their neighbourhood, creating a digital market exclusive to the community.

"Residents can also hire technicians through the app, selecting service providers based on reviews from others in the estate who have used their services. For emergencies, the app features a trigger alarm function, allowing residents to raise an alert in critical situations, notifying the entire community in real time."
