The African Development Bank will virtually host the 12th Global Community of Practice (G-CoP) policy dialogue on "Climate Financing for Green Transition and Building Resilience in Africa" on 30-31 October 2024.

The African Development Institute is organizing the event in collaboration with partners, including the Climate Change and Green Growth and the Macroeconomic Policy, Forecasting and Research Departments of the African Development Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA).

This dialogue will convene global experts and institutions working in Africa to explore policy options and strategies for unlocking climate financing to support sustainable development on the continent. Discussion will be guided by critical questions outlined in the event's concept note, aiming to identify concrete actions to scale up climate finance in Africa.

The event will feature plenary sessions, followed by breakout discussions on the roles of governments, multilateral and bilateral development institutions, and the private sector in driving climate finance for Africa's green transition.
