The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has presented a unified structure, as members intensify efforts to ensure victory for its candidate, Agboola Ajayi, in Saturday's governorship election in Ondo State.
As part of the confidence-building mechanism, party stakeholders in Ondo state equally passed a vote of confidence in the Party's National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, for his leadership role, especially in galvanizing support for the candidate.
This was contained in a resolution passed after a stakeholders' meeting involving Executive Council members, and party leaders at the various levels who met in Oka Akoko, at the weekend.
Stakeholders who attended the meeting urged all party members across Ondo State to remain united and continue to work hard for Ajayi's victory at the election.
The resolution was signed by the Ward Chairman, Adeloye Adeniyi; Vice Chairman, Ademola Samuel; Secretary, Kareem Ibrahim; Legal Adviser, Olotu Augustine; Woman Leader, Afolabi Helen; Youth Leader, Aaron Sunday; Auditor, Olagbe Abayomi; Financial Secretary, Ehinmabaje Joseph; Treasurer, Amuda Sehinde; and the Local Government Youth Leader, Ajisafe Samuel among other stakeholders.
The stakeholders resolved to "intensify efforts individually and collectively towards the victory of the PDP and its Candidate, Mr Agboola Ajayi, in the November 16, 2024 governorship election".
They also commended all the elected officers at all levels in Ondo State for their continued steadfastness and commitment to the unity, stability, growth and success of the party especially towards Saturday's poll.
The meeting particularly noted that the activities of Mr Debo Ologunagba as the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP and commended him for his sterling qualities.
"Accordingly, the Chapter unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Hon. Debo Ologunagba, as the highest-ranking party officer from the state, for his outstanding leadership roles at the ward and other levels of the party in the state as well as his impressive performance as the mouthpiece of the Party at the National level.".
Expressing confidence that the PDP candidate will emerge victorious at the election, the Ward Exco urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure that the election is free, fair and credible.
