Nigeria: Pau Graduates 50 From SMC's Professional Education Department

The School of Media and Communication, SMC of the Pan Atlantic University will on Friday, graduate at least 50 professionals who participated in the professional programmes of its Professional Education Department. The programmes include Media Entrepreneurship Programme, MEP-3; Executive Programme in Advertising, EXPAD-6, and MTN Media Innovation Programme, MTN MIP-3.

According to the school, the professional education department was created to build competent and committed professionals and encourage them to serve with personal initiative and social responsibility to the community in which they work, thereby helping to build a better society.

For instance, the MIP-3 is the third cohort of the fully funded residential fellowship birthed by telecom giants, MTN Nigeria, in collaboration with the SMC.

The programme is open to media practitioners in print, electronic and online platforms. It also accommodates qualified social media content creators. In the third cohort, 20 professionals from different media platforms in Nigeria, including those from Vanguard, Punch, Thisday and The Nation newspapers among others from notable radio and television platforms, will be graduating. Highlight of the occasion which forms part of the school's 2024 graduation ceremony will include a graduation lecture to be delivered by Professor Emeka Osuji.

Osuji's lecture will be on "Monetization of Media Resources in Dynamic Times" and expected to give the graduands some useful tips for optimising their earning capabilities to sustain their professional practices.

The school also promised that upon graduation the participants will be inducted into the prestigious Pan -Atlantic University Alumni Association.

The programme will hold at the Abuja Hall, T.Y. Danjuma Main Academic Complex, at the University Main Campus, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
