In An Interview with Vanguard the founder of Amah Declutter Services speaks about the challenges of building trust among intending buyers in the declutter market

What Is Your Entrepreneurial Journey Like?

Well About 5years ago while I was still in tertiary institution I began decluttering items on a small scale

I sell used items to my fellow coursemates back then

I have always loved the idea of helping people acquire items without them having to spend much on new ones cause the situation of the country isn't pleasing to everyone. That Declutter zeal grew into the founding of Amah Declutter Services a Declutter Agency which specialises in connecting buyers to acquire clean used household and office items without spending much on new ones and for sellers to have a channel to sell out clean items in exchange for cash

The journey though is filled with challenges but was made possible by a belief in the power of possibility

What Are The Biggest Challenges That Declutter Agency Face?

Venturing into this business firsthand exposed me to the myriad challenges faced in the declutter market in Nigeria which is Trust

A lot of people now doubt the originality of most declutter agencies due to the high level of scammers that have invaded the Declutter Space

This has affected the genuine declutter business owners

A lot of Intending buyers are now scared to buy from new declutter agencies because of fear of being scammed

This makes most new declutter agencies lose hope in making it in such a line of business

What Can Prospective Buyers Do To Avoid Been Scammed

Buyers can adopt proactive strategies online such as verifying the declutter social media page and outlet, checking out for reviews, keeping track of their followers count, taking note of comments from buyers and so many other initiative ways

What Can The Declutter Agency Do To Cub Those Scammers

Given these challenges What Can Be Done Is To Create Awareness on their platform on the pattern those scammers operate in and call out scam pages disguising as declutter agency so buyers can take note and not fall prey to them

As A Successful Female Declutter Entrepreneur, what do you have for those considering starting their own Declutter Agency

Start where you are with what you have. Entrepreneurship Requires patience, persistence and the willingness to adapt.

Challenges will arise but with resilience and continuous learning success is achievable
