Nigeria: Anchor University to Honour Ogunsan With Distinguished Personality Award

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to Anchor University, Lagos (AUL), renowned educationist and security expert, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, has been nominated for the prestigious Distinguished Personality Award.

The award will be officially conferred during the university's 4th and 5th Convocation Ceremonies scheduled for January 2025.

The announcement was conveyed through a formal letter signed by the Registrar, Moses Salami, recently.

The letter emphasised Ogunsan's "unquantifiable and invaluable contributions to Anchor University, before its inception and to date," as the basis for the well-deserved nomination.

The convocation events will span two days, starting with a lecture on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the university's former Multi-Purpose Hall. The lecture, titled "Education, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment: Breaking the Cycle of Youth Unemployment and Japa Syndrome," will be delivered by former Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Professor Charles Esimone.

The highlight of the convocation will be the award presentation during the 4th and 5th Convocation Ceremonies on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the University Auditorium. The event is expected to draw dignitaries, stakeholders, and members of the university community as they honour Ogunsan for his remarkable impact on the institution's growth and development.
