Liberia: Team Ayew Identifies With Orphans in Bomi County

Monrovia — In a move to give hope to underprivileged children, Team Ayew has identified with orphans in Bomi County.

Team Ayew is a humanitarian group of Ghanaian international footballer Jordan Ayew that usually donates to orphanages in Liberia.

Team Ayew Liberia presented bags of rice, gallons of Oil, and other non-food items worth over three thousand United States dollars.

Speaking during the presentation to the Liberia Orphanage and Abandoned Children home, sClarence Lee Chea, head of team Ayew Liberia, said it was a challenging journey to Bomi but it was rewarding.

He said Jordan is a man with a big heart and has passion to help people so he has made it his responsibility to help people, most especially orphans.

"He believes that God has blessed him so he wants to be a blessing to others, we came here because of one thing and that is love, looking at the distance we covered, some of us have not covered such before."

"We are glad to be here. There are no regrets of us coming here because we came for a reason and that is to show our love from our donor Jordan Ayew and the entire Ayew family, we come to share what he has to share with you, he's not a billionaire but has a heart more than a billionaire," Mr Chea said.

He encouraged other Liberians and people around the world to follow the good example of Jordan Ayew.

He assured the founder of the home that it will not be Team Ayew last time identifying with them and will continue to support the kids.

"Keep up the good things you are doing because it is not easy for a mother to take care of all these kids while the rest of us in Monrovia drive expensive cars and live a good life and forget about the future of this country. These children here are the future of this country.

"We hope this little donation will be a blessing and inspire you to continue to do more in taking care of the kids" the Team Ayew head said.

It's the first time Team Ayew has taken their gesture out of Monrovia but has made several donations in Monrovia since October.

He thanked Jordan and his family for extending his support to those in need and pray that God continue to protect him in his football career.

Responding to the donation, madam Bandu Quaye, founder of Liberia Orphanage and Abandoned Children home, appreciated Team Ayew for such a donation.

"I am so happy that I don't know what to say, since my husband got blind 2016 it's only God that is with us. I struggle here. Making a farm is what helps us to help the children, first Christian Aid was helping us but since their program ended we continue to struggle with the kids to get food and send them to school,"Madam Quaye said.

She said currently she has over 42 children that she is taking care of without any support from the national government.

"This kind of food that you bought is too much, it may look small but in the eyes of God it's big and I am asking God to multiply your blessings.

"When you go back please talk to your brother to continue to remember these children because it is not easy for a single mother."
