The fight between Patrolman Bahn and Jeremiah Takpor, a Police Support Unit (PSU) Officer, broke out after Patrolman Bahn had questioned the greedy manner in which the PSU officer Tapkor was eating the chicken food both of them were sharing.

PSU Officer Tapkor, had reportedly grabbed the only chicken foot in the food and was about to bite it only for Patrolman Bahn to snatch (Jeck) it from the PSU officer's hand. The action by Patrolman Bahn was deemed as gross insubordination by PSU Officer Tapkor something that led to insults and eventually a very nasty fight, leaving patrolman Elton Bahn with a broken spinal cord amongst other injuries.

Patrolman Bahn was assigned in Karnplay, Nimba County. He died following a fistfight with a fellow officer over a piece of chicken. Patrolman Elton Bahn of the Karnplay Police Detail passed away on the morning of October 25 after an altercation with another LNP officer, identified as Jeremiah Tarkpor.
