Liberia: Govt Denies Costa Class B License

The Liberian government through the Ministry of Mines has denied Henry Costa a Class B license to operate in a gold deposit facility located in Gbayasu, Bopolu District.

Instead, a Chinese company, Cosmos, currently holds the Class B license and is authorized to operate in the area.

Recently, Henry attended a meeting with local citizens in Gbayasu, alongside the Deputy Minister for Operations and the Assistant Minister of Exploration from the Ministry of Mines.

Costa reportedly attempted to secure his license through intermediaries by involving a few elderly individuals who applied for four mining claims, which could have eventually led to a Class B license. However, when the local mining agent discovered that Costa was behind the application but sought to keep his involvement hidden, the ministry took action.

Upon learning of Costa's involvement, the minister and his team decided to reject the elders' request for a clearance or Class C license.

Meanwhile, his mining equipment is currently being held at the Henry's Town police depot in Bopolu.
