The President of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People, MOSOP, Fagelo Nsuke, said the people of Ogoni are demanding a 20% revenue from oil companies operating from its communities.
Nsuke in a statement in Port Harcourt at the weekend said the 20% revenue proposal was the resolution reached at its congress of November 30th, 2024.
He said MOSOP stands by those resolutions because they are in the best interest of its people and provide a simple, clear path to a resolution.

Nsuke said providing security assistance and cleaners for oilfields cannot be what the Ogoni people will consider as benefits of a struggle he said has led to the death of about 4,000 indigenes of the community.
He said cities like Lagos, Calabar, Abuja, Enugu and Kano were not built from the income of security men and cleaners working in oilfields.
He said if the issue of resolving the problem and promoting justice is being discussed, Ogoni development should be given a priority.
"Cities like Lagos, Calabar, Abuja, Enugu, Kano were not built from the income of security men and cleaners working in oilfields. They were developed by allocations from Ogoni oil revenues and Ogoni will want fair treatment in resolving the present impasse.
"MOSOP's proposal to the government is that the oil operator should commit 20 per cent of its profits to Ogoni development. That was part of the resolutions of the Ogoni Congress of November 30, 2024 and MOSOP stands by those resolutions because they are in the best interest of our people and provide a simple, clear path to a resolution," he said.
