The Liberty Party (LP), a member of the ruling Unity Party Alliance, has called on political actors and stakeholders to respect the rule of law and seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing leadership impasse at the House of Representatives, which has persisted for nearly six months.
In a press statement issued Monday, LP Political Leader and Pro-tempore of the Senate, Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, emphasized that the deadlock at the House continues to distract from critical national governance efforts, particularly at a time when the government is working to deliver essential services and rebuild Liberia's international standing.
The Pro-tempore warned that the prolonged stalemate threatens the constitutional balance of Liberia's governance system.
"In the genius of our Constitution, we have three separate but coordinate branches of government," she stated. "Paralysis in one branch, as we are witnessing at the House of Representatives, has the tendency to defeat the principle of coordination and stall national development."

The Liberty Party lauded President Boakai's acknowledgment of the Supreme Court's recent ruling related to the dispute and commended the majority bloc's decision to file a motion for re-argument before the high court. These actions, the party noted, reflect a commitment to the rule of law, a critical pillar for Liberia's democracy.
Karnga-Lawrence urged all parties involved, as well as the general public, to exercise patience and allow the judicial process to run its full course.
"We call on all actors and interest groups to remain calm and give the court process a chance to reach a logical and judicial conclusion," she said.
The Liberty Party also appealed directly to the rival factions within the House, encouraging them to prioritize the national interest over political ambitions and to embrace mediation as a path toward resolving the impasse.
"We particularly call on both sides to put the interests of the Liberian people first and consider mediation as the ultimate solution," the statement read.
Karnga-Lawrence strongly denounced any efforts to inflame or exploit the ongoing House leadership crisis for political gain, describing such attempts as reckless and detrimental to Liberia's fragile democracy.
