The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa will host a panel discussion on 26 May at 9 am GMT on "Leveraging African capital for the energy transition through blended finance" on the side lines of the African Development Annual Meetings 2025.

The event will explore mobilizing African capital for clean energy investments through blended finance solutions.

The panel will feature the following speakers:

  • Dr. Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development and Governor of the Bank for Germany
  • Marlene Jennings, Chief Executive Officer, ARCH Emerging Markets Partners

  • Tshepidi Moremong, Chief Operations Officer, Africa50

SEFA is a multi-donor Special Fund that provides catalytic finance to unlock private sector investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Its overarching goal is to contribute to universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy services for all in Africa, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 7 and Mission 300.
