The African Development Bank Group will host a high-level webinar on strengthening Mozambican SMEs in energy supply chains as the country scales up its Liquefied Natural Gas sector. It will draw on lessons from two supported initiatives: the Linkar Project and the Moz YWEB Start-Up Programme. Both were funded through the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA), Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA), and Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi-donor Trust Fund (YEI MDTF) Trust Funds.

The event will explore how SMEs can better integrate into procurement opportunities linked to large-scale investments, and how other African countries can apply these lessons to enhance local content, promote inclusive growth, and retain greater value from natural resource development.

Speakers will include project coordinators from Empresa Nacional de Hydrocarbonetos (ENH) and Instituto para a Promoção das Pequenas e Médias Empresas (IPEME), AfDB experts, SME beneficiaries, and Trust Fund representatives.

Targeted stakeholders include Bank Staff engaged in SME support programs, Directors, Trust-fund coordinators, external stakeholders including SMEs, private sector financial institutions such as commercial banks.
