Nigeria: 'Kebbi PDP Ready for Merger to Oust APC'

Kebbi State chapter of the opposition PDP has said it is poised to join any coalition to wrest power from the ruling APC both in the state and at the national level.

The party made this known yesterday in Birnin Kebbi at the end of its stakeholders meeting where it expressed optimism on a quick resolution of all the lingering crises rocking the party.

PDP chairman, Dr Ibrahim Mera, told newsmen that the state chapter resolved to work assiduously for the success of any initiative that would oust the ruling APC adding, "We also agreed on early conduct of the state congress subject to the approval of the national leadership."

While reaffirming the resolution of his team to galvanise members for the overall growth of the party in the state, Mera appealed to residents of Kebbi to endure the current hardship, assuring that there would soon be a dawn of joy.

On his part, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, General Aminu Bande (rtd) decried the economic hardship being experienced in the state and the country at large. He chided the APC government in the state for witch-hunting the opposition.
