...As Ondo school sweeps top 3 spots
In a blend of education and empowerment, a real estate firm, Brit Properties Nigeria Ltd. on Saturday empowered students with knowledge on its 'Brit Spelling Bee' competition.
The company said the competition with the theme: 'Spell with Confidence, Shine with Pride,' was designed for children aged 8 to 12, not only promoting literacy but introducing an innovative land ownership opportunity, The Young Landlord Initiative, to help secure a financial future for Nigeria's next generation.

Speaking at the event, National Sales Manager at Brit Properties, Josephine Arowele, said the competition reflects the company's commitment to holistic youth development.
"At Brit, we are passionate about children because they are the leaders of tomorrow. We wanted to go beyond promoting literacy, we aimed to give children and their families a lasting head start financially," Arowele stated.
She stated: "Through the Young Landlord scheme, parents can purchase plots of land for their children by paying as low as N30,000 monthly over three years.

"This initiative is designed to support their future education and dreams. It is open to children across Nigeria, and we had close to 200 participants from both urban and rural communities. We conducted school outreach campaigns, ran digital promotions, and ensured strict age verification through birth certificates to maintain fairness and inclusivity," Arowele said.
"We had children from all walks of life, from the mainland to the island. It was important to us that every child had a chance to shine," Arowele added.
In a spectacular outcome, students from Greater Tomorrow International College, Ondo State, claimed the top three positions, turning the spotlight on the school's academic excellence and dedication.
First Place: Temojo Shilton David - awarded a plot of land and named Brit Properties Ambassador
Second Place: Temojo Newton Daniel - won N500,000 cash prize
Third Place: Mike Adeyeri Goodness - received N300,000 cash prize
Shilton, the champion, beamed with joy said: "It feels very exciting! I'm happy my efforts paid off."
His younger brother Newton, the runner-up, added emotionally: "The person who came first is my elder brother. We prepared together every morning and evening. I feel so proud."
Mike, who came third, said: "I'm happy and proud of myself. Next time, I'll come back stronger."
All other participants received back-to-school gift packs, including school bags and writing materials.
For families whose children didn't place among the winners, Brit extended the opportunity to still become young landowners through the Young Landlord scheme.
"We want every child to feel like a winner, not just in academics but in life," said Arowele.
With the resounding success of its first edition, Brit Properties plans to expand the Brit Spelling Bee initiative, exploring partnerships and digital platforms to reach more children nationwide.
