Nigeria: Edo Igr Hits N52.6bn in 6 Months

The Executive Chairman, Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), Oladele Bankole-Balogun, yesterday disclosed that the agency has generated N52.6 billion between January and June 2025.

Speaking with journalists in Benin, he said the 52.2 billion was a half-year target of N58.8 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, representing 89.5 per cent performance.

The N52.6billion, Bankole-Balogun said, was 46 percent higher than the N36.1 billion generated in 2024 within the same period under review.

Giving the breakdown of the money generated in the past six months, he said the service generated N10.4billion in January, N9.6billion in February and N6.9billion in March, N6.9billion in April, N7.8billion in May and N11.05 billion in the month of June.

He noted that the level of compliance of taxpayers, including individuals, corporations, and government MDAs was instrumental to our success.

He said the service is committed to delivering value-added services, improving transparency, and strengthening the tax system to build a sustainable Edo State.
