Nigeria: NSCDC Unveils Emergency Response to Tackle Insecurity in FCT

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has launched a new elite unit, the "Emergency Response Team," specifically created to combat insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Olusola Odumosu, the Commandant of the FCT Command of the NSCDC, unveiled the team during the Passing Out Parade (POP) of 200 personnel who recently completed a basic arms handling training program in Abuja on Wednesday.

"This elite team will serve as a quick response unit, specially trained and tactically equipped to intervene swiftly in high-risk situations," he stated at the unveiling, adding that "We are deliberate in what we are doing, and our vision is clear: to build a Corps that is not only responsive but also anticipatory in approach."

Speaking on the newly trained personnel, Odumosu emphasized that the training program clearly demonstrates the Corps' dedication to capacity building, operational readiness, and the overall enhancement of internal security within the FCT.
