Africa's youthful population and rapid digital transformation present fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship. Japanese start-ups and major firms are increasingly engaging in a range of sectors--including agriculture, retail, and services--expanding beyond traditional infrastructure-focused investments.

This session will highlight successful collaborations between Japanese businesses and African partners, supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Japanese Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). It will also explore how the public, private, and academic sectors can work together to scale up innovation and investment across the continent.
