18 August 2025

Just two weeks after a man was reportedly stabbed and robbed of his phone in the Kasuwan Dare area of Gwagwalada, another man, identified as Zaiyyanu Lukman, has been stabbed by suspected muggers in Old Kutunku of the town. His phone was also stolen in the attack.

A resident of Old Kutunku, Ibrahim Suleiman, said the incident happened around 10:37 pm on Monday.

He said the victim was walking home after buying some items at Kasuwan Dare when he was accosted by muggers on a motorcycle.

They stabbed him in the hand and neck before fleeing with his phone.

He said some vigilantes were alerted and rushed to the scene, adding that after identifying the victim, they alerted his family.

He said two family members came to the scene and helped the vigilantes take him to a nearby hospital.

A vigilante member in the area, Garba Ismail, also confirmed the incident by telephone.

The police in the area said the incident was not reported.
