Liberia: NLA Boss, Technical Team Inspect Blue Star High Tech Liberia Limited Facility and Draw Room

Monrovia, Liberia — The National Lottery Authority (NLA) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Blue Star High Tech Liberia Limited facility and draw room for the 5/90 Ball Lotto Games.

The exercise, led by NLA Director General Peter L. Solo along with Deputy Director General for Lotto Games, Richlue O. Burphy, and Deputy Director General for Administration, Ennish L. Fahnbulleh aimed to ensure transparency, integrity, and compliance with established operational standards.

According to the NLA, the inspection focused on several key areas, including: the operational and physical integrity of the lotto facility and draw room; procedures governing the draw process to ensure fairness and randomness; security and management of tickets from issuance to validation; recruitment, training, and deployment of POS (Point of Sale) agents and mobilizers and awareness campaigns to educate the public on lotto operations and responsible gaming.

Blue Star High Tech Liberia Limited, headquartered on 18th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia with its draw room located at the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) compound, was contracted by the Government of Liberia through the NLA to operate and manage the 5/90 Ball Lotto Games.

Speaking during the inspection, Director General Solo emphasized the authority's commitment to transparency and accountability in lottery operations across the country. He reaffirmed that the NLA remains dedicated to creating a fair and trustworthy lottery environment and urged Blue Star to implement all recommended best practices.

Ahead of the first official draw, slated for early September 2025, Mr. Solo disclosed that the NLA, through its Lotto Department, will roll out a nationwide outreach program. The campaign will focus on public awareness about the games, responsible gaming education, and the recruitment of field mobilizers across districts and counties.

Blue Star High Tech Liberia Limited's Chief Executive Officer, Clement Adu Sarpong, also addressed the media during the tour. He underscored the project's potential to create jobs, generate revenue, and build capacity in Liberia.
