According to a witness account recounted by Phyna, the heavy-duty truck ran over her sister's leg before it was eventually chased down and stopped by a bystander.
It was later reported that Ms Ruth's affected leg had been amputated.
Shortly after the unfortunate incident, which occurred six days after Ms Ruth's graduation, the actress accused the management of Dangote Group of underhanded dealings.
Drawing attention of the public to her sister's plight, Phyna said the company's management instructed the Nigerian police to remove the number plate on the truck that crushed her sister.
"Also one of your managers is going to the station tomorrow. What happened to seeing my sister first?
"If that truck and your driver should leave that station!!! I will be right back. I'm attending to my sister first," she wrote.
Fresh request
In a latest development, Phyna has made a new demand of the Dangote Group.
In a clip trending on the internet, the actress hinted that her sister has been moved to Lagos in the hope that she would be flown abroad for proper medical care.
The reality star, who is also a singer, was seen in the video addressing some officials from Dangote Group, who paid them a follow-up visit at the hospital.
According to her, the billionaire industrialist, Aliko Dangote, who is the CEO of the Dangote Group, would not bring his child to the hospital where her sister is.
"I am putting my sister as Dangote's child. Because if she were Dangote's child, he wouldn't bring her here. Dangote would not bring his child here. He would fly her out," she said.
Phyna further hinted that the family is processing documents to take her out to India.
Before the visit, the company's management released a statement, saying that its senior officials, together with its Insurance team, promptly visited the scene, engaged with law enforcement authorities, and visited the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State.
It further noted that it is ensuring full support for the accident victim, including comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation, in line with Dangote Group's welfare policy.
