Nigeria: FRSC to Set Up Mobile Court On Abuja-Lokoja Road

25 August 2025

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said it would soon introduce a mobile court along the Gwagwalada-Abaji-Lokoja highway to checkmate errant drivers on the route.

The FCT Sector Commander, Corps Commander Felix Theman, disclosed this at a town hall meeting with stakeholders and community members held at the Teachers' House in Gwagwalada on Friday.

The meeting, with the theme "A Safer Road for All," brought together security agents, transport unions, politicians, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders in the area. (NAN)

Theman expressed concern over the attitude of some drivers plying the Abuja-Lokoja highway who fail to observe traffic rules and regulations, which he said has often led to crashes.

He described the town hall meeting as an opportunity to gather feedback from the motoring public and urged motorists to exhibit responsible behavior on the highway.

The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, represented by Council Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Saba, pledged the council's support for initiatives that promote road safety and citizen welfare.

Also speaking, the Gwagwalada Unit Commander of the FRSC, Ahmed Sani, promised to address the issues raised during the meeting.

On his part, the FCT NUT Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Mohammed Shafa, expressed gratitude for an award he received during the event, acknowledging the critical role of teachers in road safety.
